about st. Elizabeth medical office building
Viox & Viox designed the site for a 25,000 square foot medical office building located at 1400 Grand Avenue in Newport. The medical office complex was built in 2013 as an extension of St. Elizabeth Healthcare Ft. Thomas and is located at the site of the former 14-acre Mildred Dean Elementary School.
In 2019, St. Elizabeth approved the design of a new building addition that will provide approximately 24,000 square feet of additional office, 20,000 square feet of parking garage (partially under the new building area), and additional surface parking.
Viox & Viox was hired by Champlin Architecture of Cincinnati, Ohio to complete a variety of services for both the original project and the later addition. This project including surveying, site plan design, grading plan, utility design, water quality design, site layout, and landscape design. There were many challenges on the site, including the topography, the size of the site, and detention and water quality solutions pertaining to the addition. The underground detention for the addition will be underneath the proposed parking garage area. In addition, a number of large walls were designed for the site to maximize the space.
St. Elizabeth Healthcare hired Oswald Company to construct the expansive facility. The St. Elizabeth Healthcare MOB houses an urgent care, a primary care practice, an OB/GYN practice and ultrasound, cardiologists and heart and vascular testing, X-rays and lab, and additional space for specialized physicians.
