about Woodspoint fire station
Viox & Viox was contracted to design the site for a new Fire and EMS Station for the City of Florence. The Florence Fire/EMS Station 3 building is located at 3125 Ted Bushelman Boulevard in Florence, KY.
Viox & Viox worked closely with the architecture firm, Hub & Weber Architects of Covington, who was contracted by the City of Florence to complete the building. Viox & Viox was hired to complete surveying, site design and engineering, and landscape architecture. Viox & Viox provided a variety of services for this project including the site plan, grading plan, utility design, detention design, landscape design, and site layout.
The Fire Station includes a 9/11 memorial which consists of a piece of steel from the World Trade Center that is displayed outside of the building for the public to see. Viox & Viox provided design for the pedestrian hardscapes that surround the memorial.
The City of Florence contracted Mark Spaulding Construction Company to construct the Fire Station. The new station offers enhanced Fire and EMS services to a side of the City that has experienced significant development in the recent past. The building also serves as a staging facility for the American Red Cross Disaster Relief vehicle.
