about East First Street Reconstruction – Silver Grove, KY
Viox & Viox is proud to have significantly upgraded the 100 Block of East First Street in Silver Grove, Kentucky. We addressed longstanding drainage issues, enhancing the street’s functionality and safety for both drivers and pedestrians. The project’s effectiveness was highlighted when the area remained flood-free during Hurricane Helene.
The project involved removing the existing 21-foot asphalt street and roadside drainage ditches, replacing them with a new 26-foot-wide concrete street featuring a 6-inch integral box curb. We also added 5-foot-wide sidewalks on both sides and driveway aprons to improve pedestrian access.
Key improvements included careful street grading, installation of new catch basins, and upgrades to the storm sewer system, effectively resolving significant stormwater management problems in the area.
To fund the storm sewer upgrades, we secured a 50/50 cost match from SD1. Construction was carried out by Rector Excavating during the summer of 2024, and we coordinated the replacement of an aging water main in advance of the roadway work.
This comprehensive project not only addressed infrastructure challenges but also improved the quality of life in Silver Grove. Viox & Viox is committed to delivering practical, long-lasting solutions, as demonstrated by the successful transformation of East First Street.
